Aide Memoires (illustration series; ongoing documentation)
Aide Memoires, a life long project that began a long time ago when I was doing my MA, the concept was derived from theories of gift giving and inspired by many interesting books I read during that time, based upon ideas about what art stops us from seeing, and the 'point of possession' (the title of my thesis during my MA)
This ongoing life series is categorised and archived by its banality: everyday objects that are possessed by me and those close to me, some that are throwaway and consumables all documented through observational sketches using felt tip pens and then archived in the format of a brown envelope, the categorisation taking place through whichever size brown envelope the object nearest fits onto...and thus became the archive of Aide Memoires!
